WQB Mold Removal is a Newton Highlands, MA-based remediation company built around one idea: tell the customer the truth about what's in their walls, then fix it properly the first time.
Our field techs are equipped with negative-air machines, HEPA filtration units, and borescopes for checking inside wall cavities without tearing the whole thing open unnecessarily.
We carry full liability coverage on every Newton Highlands job, and our dispatchers can usually get a technician on-site the same day a call comes in.
Ask any Newton Highlands property manager who's dealt with a bad remediation job and they'll tell you the same thing: the difference isn't the chemicals, it's whether the crew actually found and fixed the moisture source instead of just spraying the visible mold and leaving.
We also work directly with a network of Newton Highlands-area contractors when a job needs drywall replacement, plumbing repair, or roofing work after remediation is complete, so you're not left juggling three different companies.
Not every mold problem announces itself with a visible black patch on the ceiling.
If a room smells like a wet basement no matter how much you air it out, mold is the most likely culprit. Our technicians can often narrow down the general location just from where the odor is strongest before ever opening a wall.
Water stains on a ceiling or wall, even old ones, mean moisture got somewhere it shouldn't have, and mold often follows within 24 to 48 hours. If a previous restoration job skipped moisture readings before closing the walls back up, hidden growth can sit undetected for months.
Sneezing, coughing, or headaches that improve when you leave the house and return when you're back inside are a classic mold indicator. Air quality testing can confirm or rule out mold as the cause before you spend money chasing the wrong culprit.
Green, black, or gray speckling around windows, vents, or baseboards is often just the visible tip of a larger colony. A quick photo sent to our office can sometimes help us gauge urgency before you even schedule a visit.
Every job starts with an inspection, not a guess, so the scope of work matches what's really growing behind your walls.
Our emergency teams arrive with containment barriers and air scrubbers ready to deploy the moment they walk in. Extraction equipment and industrial dehumidifiers go in immediately to slow the moisture before it ever has a chance to seed a new colony.
Bathrooms, basements, attics, and crawl spaces each get treated with methods suited to that specific environment, not a one-size approach. We'll also flag any structural repair the job needs and put you in touch with a trusted Newton Highlands tradesperson if it's outside our scope.
Our commercial crews coordinate with property managers on phased containment so parts of the building can stay operational during treatment. We're comfortable working evenings or weekends on commercial jobs when that's what keeps a Newton Highlands business running without interruption.
Buying a Newton Highlands home? A pre-purchase mold inspection can catch problems a standard home inspection misses entirely. A written inspection report is available for real estate transactions, refinancing, or your own peace of mind about a Newton Highlands property.
These tight spaces require specialized equipment and technicians trained to work safely in confined areas. We often find the crawl space is the real source of a musty smell upstairs, even in Newton Highlands homes where the visible living space looks perfectly clean.
For Newton Highlands properties with chronic humidity issues, we design a long-term moisture control plan, not just a one-time fix. A small investment in prevention is almost always cheaper than paying for the same remediation twice.
We keep the process simple enough to explain over the phone in under two minutes.
A quick phone conversation helps us bring the right equipment on the first visit instead of a second trip. Photos texted ahead of time can help us prep faster.
We walk the property with a moisture meter and, when needed, take air or surface samples for lab analysis. You'll get a plain-language explanation of what we found before any decisions get made.
Negative air machines keep spores from traveling to unaffected rooms while the work is underway. Daily progress updates are available if you're not on-site during the work.
A final clearance test confirms spore counts are back to normal before we consider the job finished. Any lingering questions get answered on the spot before we pack up.
Our estimates are itemized line by line, which means you know exactly what you're paying for and why.
Dispatch times in Newton Highlands typically run same-day for active issues, because we staff enough local technicians to avoid the two-week backlog other companies run.
Every job includes documented before-and-after testing, not just a verbal assurance that "it's handled."
And if something doesn't sit right after we leave, our satisfaction guarantee means we come back and make it right at no extra charge.
Plenty of companies will happily bill you for remediation on a repeat basis without ever mentioning the actual leak feeding the problem, and that's simply not how we operate in Newton Highlands, MA.
Word of mouth is still how most of our Newton Highlands, MA customers find us, which tells you something about how the last job usually goes.
If regrowth tied to our workmanship shows up within the warranty window, we come back to your Newton Highlands property and fix it at no additional cost.

Response time depends on scheduling load, but same-day or next-morning arrival is typical for Newton Highlands, MA service areas. If you're dealing with active water intrusion, mention that when you call so we can flag the job as urgent.
Yes — every job gets a flat-rate, itemized quote before any work begins, so there's no surprise invoice at the end. We're happy to walk through the line items with you over the phone before you commit to anything.
Emergency dispatch is available 24/7 for situations where waiting even a day could worsen the damage. Emergency visits include temporary containment to keep the problem from spreading while the full remediation plan is put together.
Testing typically takes a few business days, and you receive a written lab report with the results. Knowing the species matters because some, like Stachybotrys, call for stricter containment protocols than common surface mildew.
Some policies cover mold tied to a sudden pipe burst but exclude long-term humidity issues, so it's worth checking your specific policy language. Our detailed photo documentation and written scope of work are formatted to make the claims process as painless as possible.
A single bathroom or small closet can often be completed in a day, while larger crawl space or whole-home jobs may take three to five days. Drying time after water extraction can add a day or two before remediation itself even starts, depending on how saturated the materials were.
Anyone with asthma or mold sensitivities may want to arrange alternate accommodations during larger jobs, and we'll advise based on scope. We'll always tell you honestly if we think you should stay elsewhere rather than downplay it to keep the job simpler on our end.
We recommend keeping children and pets away from the containment zone until the area passes clearance testing. HEPA filtration during the job significantly reduces airborne spore counts outside the sealed work area.
Post-remediation testing confirms spore counts returned to normal, and our guarantee covers regrowth tied to our workmanship. We'll also give you practical advice on ventilation, dehumidifier use, or grading changes that can help prevent a repeat issue in your Newton Highlands property.

Remediation focuses on removing the active colony and correcting the moisture source so the environment no longer supports abnormal growth. What actually matters is whether your indoor levels match what's normal for outdoor air in Newton Highlands, MA, and testing confirms that.
Surface cleaning with bleach may remove visible staining but rarely reaches spores embedded in porous materials like drywall or subfloor. Bleach also doesn't address whatever moisture condition allowed mold to grow in the first place, so the same spot often returns within weeks.
